KMVT Web Development Internship |
|
KMVT Community TV is now accepting applications for one (1) web development intern.
KMVT is currently seeking a bright, driven and communicative WEB DEVELOPMENT intern to help revamp our existing static website into a more dynamic website that can engage, and be useful to, our local community.
You will work closely with staff to:
- Design and develop a dynamic and easy-to-use website
- Expand our video-on-demand service to view our television programming online
- Build our local video community via video blogging for sharing of video content and discussion forums, with additional ability to search using tags
- Implement a search feature
- Implement a dynamic, searchable Program Guide with user logins to manage content
- Implement a check-in/ check-out system for equipment usage
- Implement user logins for viewing of user-specific information
Required Skills and Experience:
- Desire and ability to learn about and to research new trends in web technologies
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript & CSS and front-end interface development
- Experience/familiarity with a server scripting technology, such as PHP, Python, or JSP
- Familiarity with dynamic integration with database
- Interest in building community on the web
- Reliability and flexibility
- Attention to detail
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of web standards and ability to optimize for cross-browser/platforms
- Awareness of website continuity and consistency
- Sense of time-management and project development approach
- Knowledge of Flash, Photoshop and/or ActionScript
- Experience implementing or creating user forums
- Strong communication, team-building and time management skills
Commitment
We need you to be able to commit to a minimum of 120 hours, or 10 hours/week, flexible dates, and to be able to work at least once a week at our location in Mountain View. The duration of the internship is about 3-4 months.
Compensation
Internships are unpaid. As an intern you will have access to all of our video production training courses, with the ability to produce your own television or web show.

KMVT offers program sponsorship opportunities and media production training throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
