KMVT Groupsite Online Community
KMVT Groupsite is a meeting place that provides members of KMVT Community Television with a shared calendar, discussion forums, member profiles, teams for various shows and projects, photo gallery, some file storage and more. We encourage you to upload your photo, complete your profile and participate! The main idea is to facilitate a match of crew volunteers / talent and show producers, and provide an online platform for managing the teams and projects for the ongoing shows. As a rough guideline, each show will become a "team" with its members being the crew and the talent, with their own calendar and discussion boards (for example, see the High School Sports Team). Teams can also be used for other projects, like online producers meeting room, crew volunteers team, or a class discussion board. Read the Help and FAQ Forum for more info. The Network section allows searching and sorting the members profiles by their preferred role, crew positions and other criteria that members specify in the groupsite-specific section of their profile. This way producers can search for new crew members, and eager to crew volunteers can search for show producers. The Main Calendar (in the "Share" section) lists the upcoming events such as workshops and occasional in-person social meetings, where you can connect with producers, crew and talent. Meetings may take place at a local coffee shop or at KMVT, with the goal to encourage networking, collaborations and exchange of ideas. Discussion Forums are an easy way to stay in touch with the station and with the individual teams, and have your questions answered by other volunteers and staff members. The main blog will host the latest news related to KMVT and your fellow volunteers (upgrades, awards, important meeting minutes, etc.). An Email Digest of the site activity (blog posts, discussions, calendar events) will be emailed to you twice a week - you can change the frequency of these updates in your preferences. And the KMVT staff and some producers may send an occasional email blast to all the members through this portal (no more than once a month).
