Explore strange new worlds with KMVT’s Sci-Fi Filmmaking Camp this Summer!

Discover what it’s really like behind the scenes, working with a team of creative peers and educators to produce short films and skits. In KMVT’s new, 4 day camp, we’ll be exploring the high-energy world of Film production by producing Sci-Fi film ideas in small groups. Our new genre based curriculum will allow an in-depth focus on advanced storytelling and filmmaking techniques centered around the Science Fiction stories that your kids love.

This workshop is designed to accelerate the creative process in a non-stop, action-packed camp of epic productions. As part of a KMVT crew, you’ll explore every role—from camera operator, sound, and lights, to writer, director, and actor extraordinaire. Finally, as an editor you’ll be in charge of the final cut, sharing your unique vision with everyone in camp, friends and family!

What to expect:

• We’ll be working hard and having fun for 4 total days!
• This camp has a suggested age range of 10-15.
• Working in small groups, students will develop a Science Fiction film concept to create during this four day camp.
• Students will be respectful of each other’s ideas, and play a role in the production even if they aren’t on screen
• This is a truly educational experience guided by working broadcast professionals and filmmakers.
• Camp hours are 9am – 4pm.
