Deconstruct media narratives in KMVT’s FAKE NEWS Workshop this summer!

Confront modern disinformation techniques by collaborating with a team of creative peers to produce your own fake news story. In this new 2-week workshop, we’ll be developing our media literacy skills through hands-on exploration of the broadcast journalism workflow. Our new extended curriculum will allow in-depth lessons on advanced media production techniques.

This workshop is designed to prepare you for the rapidly changing media landscape by illuminating the subjectivity introduced in every stage of the production pipeline.  As part of a KMVT crew, you’ll explore every role–from camera operator, sound, and lights, to writer, broadcast director, and news anchor extraordinaire! Finally, as an editor you’ll be in charge of the final cut, learning how truth can be manipulated even after the story has been filmed.

Every day at KMVT offers you the opportunity to be creative and explore new skills on set, so sign up today and get in on the action!
