RESERVED FOR PVSD – CORTE MADERA 6th-8th GRADE STUDENTS ONLY

In a partnership between PVSD, PVSF, and KMVT, this documentary workshop will provide students with all the skills needed to produce their own journalistic videos.

Discover what it’s really like behind the scenes by working with a team of creative peers to produce an engaging documentary. In this special partnership with PVSD, PVSF, and KMVT, students will learn from video experts, and gain hands-on experience with KMVT’s industry standard production tools. Students in this course will learn to develop narratives, conduct interviews, and produce a documentary style film about the Portola Valley School District.

Throughout the spring, students will develop their concepts of stories to tell about life at CMS/Ormondale, and the impact of the Portola Valley Schools Foundation. They will interview students, staff, and administrators who have inspired their stories in order to produce a video shown to district families. Filmed on location at Corte Madera and Ormondale schools.

This workshop is designed to give students hands-on experience with industry standard equipment & software! Explore every role–from camera operator, sound, and lights, to graphics, and directing! This course will prepare students to make a creative vision a reality on screen.

KMVT is a Community Media center in Silicon Valley that offers students the opportunity to be creative and explore new skills on set. Sign up today and get in on the action!
